Then.. And now! Several years ago, while leading a homeless ministry, I met this young lady, Becky sleeping on the street.. We formed an immediate friendship. While I thought I was serving her on the street, she was actually teaching me! How quickly the teacher became the student... She taught me some amazing lessons that I could have learned from nobody else... I could write a whole book on all that this young lady did for me.. But instead I just want to share the latest *now* picture.. Becky is now off the street, living in her own apartment, working 3 jobs... And trying to make a good life for herself. I had the privilege of visiting her at her apartment today.. We laughed, we cried, and we shared stories of her former street life, and finally, we took a moment to thank God for just how far she has come. While her life is certainly not free from the consequences of her previous bad choices, we celebrated just how far she has come. To those of you who humbly serve in a homeless ministry, please use this as an example.... Keep loving, keep planting those seeds.. You never know when one, like becky, will actually take root and sprout!
