Theophany services January 18, is the Prefestival of Theophany. As appointed, just before the end of Divine Liturgy, will be the 1st Blessing of Waters. Tomorrow night we will celebrate the Feast beginning at 7:30PM with Vigil, 2nd Blessing of Waters, and Divine Liturgy. Please bring your empty Holy Water bottles to help replenish our supply for this new year. Sunday is a Fast day Clarification: In preparation for the great Feast, tomorrow (January 18, the Prefestival) is a fast day – oil and wine are allowed. (The Parish calendar is in error - strict fast applies only when feast falls on days other than Sunday) Reminder that Church School at our Parish continues every Saturday at 4:30-5:30PM Prosphora (offerings – bread, oil, wine) We make offerings to God and pray for His blessing. The most frequent and regular offering made in the Parish is the prosphora – the bread at the Divine Liturgy. While a small group regularly prepares prosphora and receives the blessing from God, it’s a pious practice that each person or family makes this offering at least once a year, if able. We typically use 3-5 prosphora at each Sunday Liturgy, and less at a weekday Liturgy. Recently our prosphora supply has been very low – at one point just one in reserve. Please consider this offering to God for your blessing, and for the Liturgy. Other offerings for the services are olive oil for the lamps and wine. Please see Fr. George with questions about specific needs. St. Anthony the Great Calendar change: we will have vespers for St. Anthony on January 29, 7PM Coffee Hour & Philanthropy Our coffee hours are possible by the efforts of St. Barbara Philanthropy. See Patty Plomaritis to learn how you can join this blessed labor. The food provided each week is not free, of course, and the proceeds are for those in need. Please give generously to Christ through philanthropy – by your labors and by your donations. Please see Fr. Jeremy if you are aware of a person who m ight need our Parish’s philanthropic help. Fr. Sergius
