There I was winding down after a LONG work day minding my own business... thud in the dark. Motion sensor lights on. Sudden dark shadows and the realization thats NOT the stray cat, much too large... And BAM. Im facing a big ol raccoon with a couple more on my fence. We stared at one another for a good few seconds while I of course remembered stories of rabid ones and how vicious one can be if threatened regardless of rabies... Story ends with them running off, me NOT so wound down for the day but deciding to head in... only to find Id locked myself out of the backdoor. (Of course right now...) ran around the house through the gate in my bathrobe to let myself in the front and now Im tucked in bed with a rapid heartbeat. Just fyi though. . . Raccoons really are super cute in retrospect?
