There are 3 branches of power: Legislative is called Congress which is bicameral (two) branch seperated into the house and senate -- they are responsible for proposing the laws. Judicial is headed by the Supreme Court who is headed by 9 supreme judges their responsibilities are judging important cases and interpreting the constitution. Then there is the Exexcutive Branch headed by the PResident. He can veto laws say HELL NO but this can be overturned by majority vote then he can pardon criminals, and uitlize a number of other executive powers under the supervision of the other branches ... This is the system of checks and balances that make up our wonderful US of AMerica! Get it got it now understand it ...WHEW!!
