There are 3 people in the U.S. infected with ebola. Out of 315 million. So naturally, hazmat suit stocks have spiked. Is it too early to admit that we are the most easily panicked, fear induced, media manipulated country on the planet? Seriously, we didnt used to scare so easily. On the other hand, would it not be prudent to stop slashing the CDC budget, so that perhaps we could get some direction here? Our for profit healthcare system seems to be floundering and helpless. According to the nurses union there doesnt seem to be any money in training our medical first responders on how to properly address infectious diseases, let alone the expense of purchasing the proper clothing and gear. I have noticed that the politicians are ignoring the experts and are calling for a travel ban in response to the hype, but arent yet ready to go back to work, come together and allocate more resources to the CDC and training for first responders. Just an observation. I guess well stick to what works, like pointing fingers and blaming others for the mess were in.
