There are 46 kids that relies on the support of the Koguta - TopicsExpress

There are 46 kids that relies on the support of the Koguta Development Programme, from those 46, 4 did not attend school in 2014 for lack of funds to pay the fees. With the help of my family and my friends in Australia I was able to collect 1000 AUD that was donated for the program and will make possible for 2 of those 4 kids to return to school in 2015 for their secondary studies. In Brazil, my beautiful mum was super generous and donated one of her beautiful paintings to do a raffle and collect more funds, with her raffle and the generous donations of my best friends from back home, we were able to raise another R$1,550 reais, the money from Brazil will afford a third kid to attend secondary school next year. The fourth kid is little Eva, this 10 years old little girl captivated my heart and she is now my beautiful God Daughter, I will pay for her to go to school in 2015, and i promised I would continue to pay for her studies until she graduates as long as she is doing great in school and getting good grades! With the money that was left from all the donations we were able to buy lots of food to donate to everyone. We bought over 25 kg of rice and beans to cook 2 big lunches for the over 80 people supported by the project, and the best part is that we had money to buy over 90 kilos of maze (type of corn that Kenyans use to make their traditional meal called Ugali). The 90 kg of maze was divided into equal bags that was distributed to each person of the list of people in need. The list consists of 27 widows, 20 girls and 26 boys. The quantity of maze donated is enough to feed each person for 1 week. It might not be too much, but is enough to prove to this people that are generous people in this world, and that they should have hope and always be kind to others. I had a very special weekend there in Koguta giving these donations, the gratefulness of the people who received the donations and the look in the eyes of the widows when receiving the food is something I will never forget my whole life. I am so grateful though to all my family and my friends who donated to this cause, you were the ones who made this all possible, and words cannot describe how thankful i am for each one of you that supported me through this journey and contributed to make this possible. You might not know these people, and they might not know you, but what you made will never be forgotten! Thank you
