There are NO humanely raised chickens and their eggs. ALL animal products involve so much cruelty that if you had to witness it yourself, you would do everything in your power to stop it let alone pay someone to harm the animal for you. PLEASE go vegan. Heres a good description of the egg industry by Jeff Rosenberg: Its not often that we get a glimpse at another Earthling as he experiences literally his last moment of life. Fully aware of himself, his surroundings, and the stench of death all around him, he is unaware that there are just a few remaining inches left between himself and the rotating blades of the meat grinder below. This IS the egg industry... whether free range or humanely raised or any other misleading euphemism is used to describe how the egg-laying hens are treated... the male chicks all meet the same fate. If they are not dropped into huge canvas bags and then sealed up in those bags to suffocate or be crushed to death.... then they get a trip down the conveyor of death, dropping into the meat grinder while fully conscious. Can a truly compassionate human being who loves animals, or even cares a little bit about animals, contribute to this, knowing that hundreds of millions of innocent baby chicks meet this fate every year? Can anyone with a conscience pay the salaries of the people like those we see here who are such lost souls that doling out death all day long no longer matters to them? All of this loss of life and loss of humanity... for an omelet? Or a cookie? None of this has to continue. NONE OF IT. There are so many great plant-based foods for humans to eat and to thrive on. All it takes is a little willingness to try something new. Thats it. Try plant based foods. Every time any of us chooses not to eat eggs or egg products, one less chick is sent down this conveyor of death.
