There are a few Kizomba teachers in EU i consider Mestres (Eng. Masters), as this word is meant for people who are studying a dance, a culture, the history, music, technique, lets say ALL THE ASPECTS of it, for many many years, in the proper way from other Mestres. For me personally Mestre Zé Barbosa i consider my Mestre as i follow his work since i started dancing kizomba, and the day when i met him and had the best conversation with him, along with him giving me great compliments of my dance and what i do, was probably the best day of my Kizomba carrier ever! And even tho i teach, i am and wish to be a forever student and never stop learning, and always looking forward to the day i see him again and there is so much to learn from this Mestre. Another person who is a Mestre of his trade is Kwenda Lima & Kaizen Dance with his beautiful smooth style, giving his all to the partner and the moment which you can even see from the side. Then thee is Avelino Chantre ahead of his time Kizomba Dancer with very original ideas and feeling. Next one is Helio Santos who i believe is a great Kizomba ambassador to the whole world of this culture. And finally Mestre Petchu with whom on fortunately i havent spend time with YET, but i plan on seeing him soon and learning as much as i can. They are all Very Different in their dance styles, but they share the same BASE, the same FOUNDATION which no Kizomba dancer should SKIP or IGNORE which is happening with many of the new generation of dancers/teachers. Before you start creating and exploring your own things and your own style, take classes from someone who teach the true base like these Mestres, and watch your Kizomba blossom. So if you have an opportunity, i recommend to all of my FB friends to take classes from these great people.
