There are a lot of reasons that service members may feel recently - TopicsExpress

There are a lot of reasons that service members may feel recently that their service and sacrifice has been devalued, from the pay cut to the shrinking force and shrinking promotion rates, to the VA scandal, to the expansion of benefits to illegal aliens and even a pay raise to federal contract workers that coincided with the reduction of the military pay raise. The most recent gut punch for many was the release of five terrorists that Americans sweated and bled to catch in exchange for a deserter whose treachery cost the 4/25th six good men on their 2009 deployment. Further salt in the wound was hearing a high ranking official refer to his service as honorable before the Army even has the chance to explore trying him for desertion. I didnt realize how much this had affected me until my new chiropractor told me my first visit (that I completed tonight) was on the house because he appreciated my service. I have been told that many times, but it impacted me tonight deeply and I told him so. For all my brothers and sisters serving, I commit to you that I will never dishonor or cheapen your service or keep my peace while somebody else does. You all are too valuable to be treated as anything less than national treasures.
