There are a number of Ben Nicholson works showing here at mima until 25 January in International Exchanges: Modern Art and St Ives 1915-1965, presented in collaboration with Tate St Ives. This exhibition explores the national and international contexts which shaped art in the port town of St Ives, which was an artistic centre of international importance during the 1940s, 50s and 60s. One of these works is 1932 (Le Quotidien). This painting is shown alongside major works by artists such as Patrick Heron, and Barbara Hepworth, shown alongside those of their contemporaries from elsewhere in Europe, America and beyond, such as Wassily Kandinsky and Mark Rothko.
