There are about 30,000 people in the country diagnosed... right now there is really no incentive for pharmaceutical companies to invest billion of dollars into research... because Im not profitable, Im not worth saving? Ill be honest, I was not very aware of the severity of ALS, the need for this benefit, before seeing the ice bucket challenges flood my Facebook feed. At first I was annoyed. It seemed like another reason to do something stupid on camera for internet points or whatever. But its something awesome, not only did it bring awareness to the disease, but also it brought in donations. But remember guys, it is for a cause. There is still a donation. I believe it was $100 donated if you are called out and do not do the challenge, and $25 donated if you did the challenge. Please do not forget that part. Donations have hit over 30 million in the past few days, all towards research on a cure for the disease. Because there is no profit for big pharmaceutical companies to get off saving the 30,000 in this world. Its up to us who care to help.
