There are alternative ways to build an economy. Capitalism and Socialism are done because they never met the people needs and are basically totalitarian systems! Capitalism is based on greed where profits have to be made to let the system work and Socialism shows that major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies, both have failed! One of these alternative economies is not based on profit but based on our needs! It is called Progressive Utilisation Theory. Prout is based on universal values recognizing and protecting the rights of all to the fulfillment of their basic needs; the protection of the environment, plants and animals; and a dynamic, incentive-based multi-tiered economy with local and cooperatively-employee-owned enterprises at it core. It encourages a balance in the effort of satisfying individual and collective needs. It works in parts of India and other small communities around the globe!
