There are better ways to get people back to work. Mandatory logging quotas from our national forests would only further undercut the price of timber (already low with the slumping housing market), undermine the multiple-use paradigm, and put at risk special areas of the forest otherwise protected. Please sign :) This is, of course, spearheaded by our own 5th District (encompassing the ANF) Congressman Glenn "GT" Thompson — who has personally told me that the only reason he "can see for preserving forests is for profit and extractive industry."
