There are certain Movie/TV roles that black actors refuse to take (stereotyped roles) But yet white actors have no problem playing those roles. Example: The Three Stooges, they were never stereotyped for acting silly, stupid, crazy, talking weird etc. People called it comedy. If 3 black actors had did the recent remake of The Three Stooges they would have been stereotyped. Pickaninny, Buck, Uncle Tom, Zip Coon, Jim Crow, the list goes on. My recent conversation with actress/director Producer Cherie Johnson she told me to this day she herself has turned down major roles, her Mentor, Actress Cicely Tyson once told her, Baby you dont have to play those roles anymore because Ive already played them for you Question: Why do actors like comedian Jim Carrey and other white actors gets away with playing stupid silly roles without being stereotyped?
