There are few hells like that of the smoke alarm battery dying at - TopicsExpress

There are few hells like that of the smoke alarm battery dying at 4am in your bedroom. You are sick, your husband is traveling for work, and you have a 5 week old infant you are trying to keep asleep. Thus begins the mad woman dash through the house looking for an extra battery because the alarm is going off every 30 seconds to remind you it needs one. But you cant find a spare because NOTHING USES 9 VOLTS EXCEPT SMOKE ALARMS. So you switch batteries with the alarm in the kitchen only to discover THAT alarm is some super alarm with an even louder beep than the bedrooms. So then you replace THAT battery with the SPARE bedrooms battery. At this point you seriously wonder if you shoved your baby in the car, could you find a store open at 4am that also carried 9 volt batteries? But chances are no, so you attempt multiple ad hoc sound barriers between you and the spare bedroom and pray you can make it until cvs opens in the morning. Honestly, the chances of breaking your neck as you balance on chairs at this ungodly hour is much greater than a fire at this point. What are the stats on smoke detector battery changing-related injuries, Mr. Fire Marshal? THATS a stat Id like to know.
