There are good people in this world and there are bad people in this world. It would be unrealistic to say that that was not true about people in law enforcement. All of the folks I know personally in law enforcement realize this fact. They do what they do because of the calling. The calling to serve and protect. The calling to willingly stand between the innocent and evil. The calling to hold accountable those who have erred without condemning them, the call to make the ultimate sacrifice for someone they dont know. We who do not do the job should have a calling as citizens to realize they can only enforce laws we have allowed, make decisions on what they see, and deal with people according to how they behave. It is up to us to calmly and intelligently use the system to weed out the bad ones, patiently and lovingly dealing with those learning or having a bad day and support and defend those who are simply doing their job... why? Because just like our brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces, we are better off with them than without them. Thanks Nick for doing what you do. From the O to the A.
