There are many prominent people laid to rest in the Beaver Cemetery. One is Henry Hice, who was born in 1834 in Hopewell Township and passed away in 1905. He was of German parentage. He became Beaver Cemeterys first secretary. He studied law in 1857 with Col. Richard P. Roberts of Beaver. He was admitted to the bar in 1859 and became Roberts partner. He was appointed as first president judge of the newly created 36th judicial district from 1874 to 1885. His first wife passed away in 1872, and then he married Sarah H. Minis, daughter of Chief Justice Daniel Agnew of the PA Supreme Court. He worked with the Harmony Society as its legal advisor.
