There are no cinema halls in Saudi Arabia. Oh, dont look so - TopicsExpress

There are no cinema halls in Saudi Arabia. Oh, dont look so dismayed. Anyway there are hardly any movies worth watching in the theatre, these days ;) But we, the people of Khobar are lucky, just 25 kms away from Bahrain. Just cross over the sea causeway, and we are there. Of course, as its another country altogether, we expats do have to go through all the immigration, customs, etc, which can take from half an hour, to three on a crowded day, but still, its fun. And we do need multiple exit reentry visa also. So last night, Khan Saab said, Lets go to Bahrain tomorrow, to watch PK. Our visas expire tomorrow, so we had only a day, and that too was a little close. But had heard fantastic reviews, and we were really excited about the film (HK likes AK a lot). So we made plans to leave after his office. And catch the film in the first possible show. But when I got up this morning, rather afternoon, younger one came complaining of sore throat. Haldi honey remedy kiya, sooji ka doodh diya, salt water gargle karvaya, aur khila pila ke sulaya. Fervently hoping that she would be ok by evening. But no, in fact, she became more listless, if possible :( Ab kya karte? Accepted, that the programme had to be cancelled. With a heavy heart, went into the kitchen and got dinner ready. Piping hot Lentil soup Garnished with olive oil, a sprinkle of Zaatar and Sumac, and coriander sprig. Served it with khubz (Arabic flat bread) and Lebanese cheese salad. Chalo theek hai Woh PK nahi Toh yeh peeke sahi ;) Ab sab Khan toh naseebdaar nahi ho sakte na. Amirs bad luck :p
