There are over 500x Marines that I have become friends with and have mentored to help in their lives for the good of their future. Being away now for two years, not stationed with a platoon, its amazing the tight brotherhood still has many of them messaging me, telling me where they are in their lives, in their careers as a Marine, or where their lives have taken them out of the Marine Corps....and what means the most to me, is having them tell me that when they came across my friendship when their platoon worked with my command, both in Japan and in Spain, that they understand now why I did what I did for them, not just a sheer act of kindness, but understanding entirely of a promise I made with the first Marine I became friends with. The bracelet was just a symbol, but the brotherhood remains eternal in every Marine that I befriended
