There are people whose mode of communication is to provoke a response. They have a point of view, and sometimes they are simply looking to provoke without encouraging any feedback. They have decided what something is, and so I write if not given the opportunity to speak. Once I have done that then I am done with it, and move on. For me writing is an art form. It is a release, a type of catharsis, a canvas to paint pictures, a camera to capture fleeting moments of truth, a stage to set the drama of life upon in order to see it more clearly. I am grateful that I can write because sometimes what I write resonates with others beyond my own feelings and thoughts. That is a good thing which never ceases to amaze me. Then the writing is active, it is an exchange, a place where empathy and understanding occur. It provides a place of freedom, where that which has been repressed is given expression, and in the process let go, allowed wings to fly, or like the Chinese lantern around a fire pit a month ago, lit, released, and airborne disappearing upward toward the moon and stars, fainter and fainter with distance until it is a memory, a receding blur of light. Life goes on. We turn back to the circle of friends and make new conversations, share fresh experiences, keep singing, watching, being aware that love is all.
