There are so many successful Project ADORE stories to share and this is one of them. Lily is a beautiful girl who was adopted by the Sethi family. Lily is our 3.5 year old local cross. We were told she was rescued together with her 5 puppies from a factory in Singapore’s west in October 2012. Lily would not have come into our lives if not for ASD and Project ADORE. My family wanted to give a rescued dog a home but mongrels are not HDB-approved. We were overjoyed when we came to know about Project ADORE through ASD and even more so when Lily qualified as an ADORE dog. With ASD’s help, we officially adopted her on Christmas Eve 2012. The rules of adoption are more stringent but not burdensome. We were simply grateful that such a scheme existed to allow us to adopt Lily. Lily has totally changed our lives. Although she is by nature a sweet, quiet and very smart dog, her good behavior was reinforced by the compulsory obedience classes. In fact, she topped her class in the tests, upstaging her pedigree classmates! Lily is also well-known in our neighbourhood, partly because of her beautiful black coat but mostly because of her gentle demeanour. Everyone tells us how lucky Lily is to have us. I tell them, however, that it’s us who are lucky to have her. Stray dogs deserve a home too. Project ADORE is a groundbreaking initiative which has two wonderful benefits: giving more dogs the opportunity of a better life and also allowing more Singapore families to experience the unique joys that a dog brings to their lives. To help support our rehoming efforts under Project ADORE, we will be launching a fundraising campaign through Geofundit on Thursday, 27th Nov 2014, at midnight. Please stay tuned for more information on how you can donate. JUST UNDER 4 HOURS TO GO! Please share this post to show our support for Project ADORE and also so we reach as many people as possible.
