There are so many touching messages that we are receiving from community members from St. Albert and across the country regarding the tragic incident at the Apex Casino on Saturday... Many of you are continuing to leave your porch lights shining tonight and we Thank You. We have been advised that this simple act alone has touched our St. Albert RCMP and first respondent personnel across the country, through many parts of the USA and around the globe. From Community Member Joe Doherty: I reflect on constable Wynn and am deeply saddened to hear he was injured in the line of duty. In my opinion he stands out in a sea of red coats and was and is an ambassador for the RCMP. Never in my life have I dealt with a man with such authority yet carried it with humility and grace. Get well soon MR Wynn. Our community needs fine officers like you. From Community Member Marv Brown: After seeing the latest news conference from K division it is absolutely heartbreaking to hear them say they do not expect Constable Wynn to make it. Heres hoping that miracles can come true, a married man with 3 children. A man doing his job, a job that makes our community a safer place to live in. I do not know Constable Wynn, but know that he chose to do a job that most of us would not have the courage to do. They are a special breed of people that uphold the law and prevent those that would choose anarchy if allowed to run rampant. Thank you seems insufficient, but Thank You, to all members of RCMP and first responders for making this community what it is. As a community we need to stand behind the men and women that are out on the street every day.
