There are some times you experience when you get a mind blowing information from your well wisher which will make you to think beyond your competency level. Received an opportunity today while interacting with Founder of Thought Magic training solutions today and discussed about the teaching pedagogy adopted in todays b schools. Vital information received is, in apex institutions (B Schools) right from global level esp., in India if a professor is handling a subject he needs to prepare 7-8 days for taking 1 class. In this he needs to include the following things 1. Academic Content with world class academic standards with live examples in global level. 2. Student chart - Which student should be seated where? (seating plan) 3. In blackboard - first which side (right side or left side) should be written and explained 4. Student competency analysis - that is student academic background - if the professor is delivering one concept he needs to know which student will understand easily and what type of doubt he will ask, based on that he need to study and frame it accordingly. 5. Assessing the visualizing skills of the students about how they follow up and more. As a Professor, I use to prepare from the syllabus just 10% remaining 90% of preparation in regard to the concept are from 4Ps, Business and Economy, Economic times and few more magazines.. My passed out MBA students know about this.. when I heard this i really missed my days while handling classes. Will be again in acadamics once my reasearch gets over and come up with a good insight by collecting more informations and experience a new beginning for the betterment of student fraternity. All B school young teaching fraternity should visit Tier 1 b schools and understand the pedagogy and their work exposure and identify what really differs from them. A indepth study how to make the student more comfortable in their learning curve and what is required for them to think themselves as a masterpiece. Think we should also do a detailed study and get more insight like how the creamy layer of B schools do. No matter that whether the receiving end is eligible to receive our thoughts and content but we need to initiate with action which is the need of the hour esp. for b schools. Slowly one by one, if every professor is initiating the task step by step and go ahead and make the process stable. If this goes well think our Tier 2 B Schools can shine and survive and get back the grace of MBA like how it was before a decade.
