There are those random sensations, as we stride down our life path, that ignite the desire to do or experience something. That mindless stimulus cue is perhaps the greatest treasure, our opportunity to discover a longing and to use our God given talents. What I mean is... when we ignite our senses by something we see, smell, hear, taste or feel we experience a stimulation, either of interest or not. The moment the sensation resonates within is the moment we discover our passions. The value of the experience is not limited to the act or event, even more significant is the opportunity to use our God given talents. We dont want to simply just do it, as a popular sports apparel company says, we want to be good at it. As our senses stimulate and energize us to move forward, our talents are reveled. We must understand our Passions and our God given Talents are not always in sync. There will be times when we dont perform at the professional level, but that doesnt eliminate us from enjoying the experience. For example, I learned in college, my skills as a athlete were not at the professional level, but I am very passionate and now a talented coach and even more talented spectator. So as you sing in the shower, create realistic expectations, everyones standard of excellence is an individual expression. Frustration should never be a result of comparing our abilities to that of others. Push forward but always be willing to buy tickets to watch the professionals when necessary. Our own experience will create a greater appreciation, adding value to the experience and to our life as a whole. ~Brett Payne
