There are those who dont realize how serious and deadly Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is. Please read this article about a woman who has lost 5 members of her family to EDS. Its a horrible disease, and those of us who have it live on the edge daily, just waiting for something to happen. Example: Yesterday we had an emergency with Beth, where we thought she was having a retinal detachment of the eye (common with EDS) and had to seek emergency medical attention. Thankfully it wasnt a detachment - it was visual disturbances caused by a seizure (in itself a medical emergency.) But next time could be worse, and she could lose her sight. I dont normally wail on about EDS and how crap it is, so please forgive me this one time. Its just that occasionally, one hears a story like this, and it serves to remind us all how insidious EDS really is. Thanks friends, for reading x
