“There are three that bear witness on Earth; the Spirit, the Water, and the Blood” (1 John 5:8). The precious blood of the Lord Jesus is so glorious and so powerful! Jesus’ blood possesses its divine and glorious power only through the Holy Spirit; and it is the Holy Spirit who demonstrates His divine power through the Jesus’ blood. The outpouring of Holy Spirit upon this earth, on the day of Pentecost, followed the outpouring of the Lord’s blood, upon the Cross. The Holy Ghost had come unto and upon those that had been purified by the Blood of the Cross, through the working of the eternal Spirit. Let it be declared from the onset that the Spirit of God is holy, and He could abide only where sin had been atoned for. The place of rest that the Spirit seeks is always upon that heart that is washed with the blood of the Lamb of God- and that loves Him and thirsts for God. When He spoke of the living water, he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believed in Him.” The Breath of God is the Spirit of God. From the very beginning, it was the Holy Spirit that gave life to mankind, by the way of the blood. We learn in Genesis 2:7, “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” This is beyond our comprehension and there is no way that man can even think of understanding this divine work of God. Try, with the eyes of your heart, to imagine the moment that the Spirit of God breathed into Adam’s nostrils, blood began to flow through his body. Adam, who was formed out of the dust of the ground, became alive! It was at that very moment that the blood of Adam began to circulate throughout Adam’s entire being. The life of Adam’s flesh was to be found only in the blood flowing through him; and that life was the Holy Spirit. God had formed man out of the mud, and through the blood divine life came forth, by the Spirit! Sadly, man later chose to sin, and his sin had to then be atoned for. There would be no spiritual life in man, until the atoning work of the blood. God’s justice demanded the shedding of blood, for the remission of man’s sin. It was the only way acceptable to God. For this reason, in order for the Father to re-establish man’s son-ship with God; God the Son chose to come to this earth and to offer His own precious blood as man’s High Priest unto His Father, once and for all. The eternal God had to become a man and take on the flesh of man. This God man had to then willingly pour out His blood upon the Cross, so that He might satisfy the holiness of His Father. Only the holy Son of God, Himself, could fulfill His own requirement for holiness in the life of man! This is the Good News, The Father gave His only begotten Son for the atonement of the sins of man. There, on a hilltop called Calvary, Jesus Christ died. As was pictured in the Tabernacle in the wilderness, the altar was the place of the shedding of the blood of the sacrifice. So the Cross of Calvary was Jesus’ altar of the sacrifice of His own life. As only the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, so it was for Christ Jesus. No one else could qualify to enter into the holiest place in heaven, except the Son of God, who came from Heaven. It was Jesus, who was nailed to the cursed tree. He sprinkled the altar of His Cross with His own blood! By the Spirit of Christ, Jesus had now offered His holy blood, in exchange for the blood of every man on the face of the earth. Jesus Christ exchanged His life for the life of hopeless mankind, by the shedding of His own precious blood; and it was only by the Holy Spirit that all of this could take place. “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed!” Jesus Christ freed us from the fear of death, and the penalty of sin! He rose Himself from the dead and He ascended to His Father in heaven, and presented His own blood as our ransom. By the way of His own blood, Jesus Christ was now physically back into the Holiest Place, before His Father, seated on His right hand. Jesus entered through the veil of God’s Temple in Heaven, triumphantly, through His own blood. The King of Kings had defeated the devil for evermore. King Jesus had been glorified, and our son-ship was restored! To those who feared God and loved Him first, they would now be covered all the days of their lives with a hedge of protection-the hedge of the blood of the Lamb of God. To this very day, the Blood continues to be our hedge of protection, for all of us who call upon the name of the risen Lord, by faith. By this holy way of the blood, we are given God’s power to defeat Satan, in our lives; for the Scriptures declare we defeat Satan “by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” Jesus had clearly declared during His life on earth, that He had come to destroy all the foul work of the enemy. He did just that! The Lord’s blood was His divine means of doing so; because His holy blood had a supernatural power, living and working through it, the power of the Holy Spirit- the power of the Godhead! Yes, Satan’s evil work has been successful for thousands of years, by his infesting into the souls of man, sin. God has always detested this infestation of sin into the souls of His sons and daughters. As long as this evil causing sin is the hearts of man, all fellowship with God is a total impossibility; because our God is holy. As a result, unholy man can never eternally commune with a holy God. It will always be impossible for man to enter into the Secret Place of the Lord, on his own goodness. Closeness with the Beloved is only available to those whose garments have been cleansed with the blood. Death, suffering, torment and separation from the Lord’s presence, forever; is the only hope for a lost soul. No choice was left for this holy God of the Universe. Lucifer’s evil work upon the souls of man had to be abolished and crushed, once and for all. The Cross would be the way of God choosing, that He might make all things right. Now, Satan has always been determined to undermine God’s work in the lives of man. For this reason, while he has the time, the devil will not stop his seeking and enlisting souls into his evil kingdom, that he might have his own sons. The devil will always continue his attacks upon the souls of man; for this is his unholy calling- to steal, kill and to destroy the souls of man. This is where the blood of the Lord Jesus had to finally come in. Because of the Holy Spirit’s abiding, only the blood of Christ that had the power to purify man’s soul, and to make a way back for the knowing of the one true God, and Jesus whom He sent! Because of the Blood and the Holy Spirit’s working in the blood, Son-ship could now be restored with a holy God. Eternal life rested in the hands of the Godhead, by the way of the blood of the Cross, through the miraculous working of the eternal Spirit. The Godhead, the Cross, the Resurrection and the Blood formed an eternal cord of love- which strangled and cut off the life of Satan forever more! Amen.
