There are times in which I can feel a great sense of gratitude for natural horsemanship and the partnering with my horses. One had a nasty gash the other day. The vet came swiftly. Love the way they use buttons to take the strain off the skin when the horse stretches. Had to remove a big drain from the wound today. Wound still tender. My beautiful girl stood still as I located and removed the top anchoring suture. Same again when removing the base anchoring suture. Her ears stood to attention as she felt the drain gently leave her body. A look of surprise on her pretty face. I felt so good, that I had taken the time to connect and have her feeling at ease.
