There are times when I know that I have a warped view of who God is or how He feels toward me. And it comes from my own frustration with myself. Sometimes I catch myself thinking things like, If I dont hurry up and do _____, God will be mad at me. Its so easy when were aware of our own imperfection to get caught in a trap of thinking God is going to get us. But is that true? Im beginning to realize that I need to go back and rediscover who God is, and in turn, who I am in Him. God is good! Hes a loving Father who delights in me and wants to bless me! He LOVES me! Life and mistakes and falls and frustrations can make us forget this very important truth. Gods not sitting up in heaven watching me with a scowl on His face and waiting for me to mess up so He can get me. He already knows the mistakes I will make. He already knows the frustrations I will face. He already knows I have to grow in holiness. Nothing I do or think comes as a surprise to Him. But He still loves me and delights in me because Im His child. Bella is 4 1/2 years old. She has her moments of being a sheer terror, as all kids do, as she knows how to push my patience to its limit. But I love that girl with everything in me! Shes my child! Shes an absolute joy to me and I would do anything for her! I know that shes learning and growing and things will pass as she matures. But through it all, shes my kid and I love her and will always love her. Magnify this times infinity, and we might start to get an idea of how much God loves us. Our brains cant even handle it. His love is so far beyond our comprehension. Lord, teach me!
