There are two things almost at the top of my Things I Hate Truly - TopicsExpress

There are two things almost at the top of my Things I Hate Truly list ... being constipated and renewing my drivers license. I have had my calendar marked for several months now; DMV in red ink scrawled across the page. I have never had a moving violation or ticket, and pretty much over the years have received notice, sent in my check and received my license all renewed in the mail. Ten years ago as the lines on my trunk had increased, the process changed. Pay, have eyes checked, photo taken, out the door (Not ever that quickly, in that order). I mentioned a month or so ago to Donald that the day was fast approaching. He said, You will probably have to take a written test this time,.... Well, damn isnt that good news. I thumbed through the Internet and found their site with ALL the information - holy crap, was there this much to know 25 years ago when I took my last written test? I read, and took the trial test. As the day has neared, Ive had a recurring upset stomach, Its a piece of cake, Babe, Donald has said repeatedly. Ive had nightmares, and leg cramps; all I am certain due to my angst. Hot sun beating down, Mamas with screaming kids, people as uncomfortable as I, shifting feet ... getting an attitude. Finally the security guard ushered us inside... another damn line! Who organized this place I thought? After the second hour, I walked to the counter, filled out some paper work and was given a number. Did you have an appointment? The clerk asked ... think you might be in for a wait. Great, now my deodorant has really melted, I need to pee, need water, and a cigarette - not necessarily in that order. I waited ... cell phone now at 11%, informing me the battery is low... bladder is starting to scream... heading to the back side of three hours, I hear ... #2039 - dang that is me! Jumped to my feet, walked quickly to the clerk, handed her my paperwork, the only smile I have left and asked Do you need my license too? She nodded, reached out and took the license. Didnt you receive a notice in the mail? No, I said. Well, Sacramento made some major mistakes in 2010 on licenses, she informed me. You license isnt due for renewal until 2015. There are two things ...
