There has been a lot of talk and finger pointing over the years in NH about the GOP establishment taking sides in the primary. I have pointed that finger myself once or twice. There is one fix that would at least partially help solve that problem. How about we move the state primary to l dont know....say June, like many other states have it? The reason folks feel compelled to take sides, no matter how unjustified it is, falls largely because they want to win the general election. 8 weeks is not enough time for the nominee to pick up the pieces of a primary and run a good general. It can work, I have run a successful one in that time myself but there is no doubt in my mind that it puts the challenger at an additional disadvantage.
