There has been much debate about the ice bucket challenge around my house. Those that have been following along on Facebook know that my father succumbed to the disease in 2007. I wrote a song for him on Fathers Day the year he died (which he got to hear). I posted a video for the tune in 2009 on YouTube and trot it out on Fathers Day and the anniversary of his death every year to show what a vibrant man looked like who loved life. That date is August 30. Rather than wait 10 days to commemorate the occasion again Ive decided to post it now. The description on the YouTube page gives a URL where you can download the song. Its free. But I am asking folks to contribute money in lieu of doing the ice bucket challenge as I think this direct approach will have a more immediate impact. Whatever is collected from here on in I will forward to ALS Canada. You dont need $10,000 to make a difference. Spare what you can and help those in need of a cure NOW.
