There hasnt been much media coverage on this story but I think it is noteworthy at the least. Obama has released a new executive order. whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/03/06/executive-order-blocking-property-certain-persons-contributing-situation This one goes beyond his normal everyday foolishness so its implications make it worthy of public knowledge. Its written in normal legalese which shrouds these implications in a sort of thinly veiled secrecy from the mainstream public but they are well understood by those for whom they were intended. What he has done is to basically nullify the property rights of foreign holders of American mortgage backed securities and we all know who that is, . . . China. China holds $100s of billions of these US securities. If they are defaulted on, the holder of the security (China) essentially forecloses and takes possession of the assets. They become the knew landlord. This royal edict nullifies that process. In other words, Obama has declared economic war on China. His intent is to stymy Chinas involvement in the Ukrainian dilemma. The rouse of course is in the fallacy that this crisis is about the propagation of democracy in the region, but that isnt the case. Its about trade. Its about dollars. Its about pulling Ukraine into the EU and securing Western economic oligarchy with a pinch of Russian suppression thrown in for good measure.
