There have been a lot of stories in the news lately about hackers gaining access to credit/debit card numbers. You are entitled by federal law to one FREE copy of your credit report per year from each of the top 3 credit reporting agencies at annualcreditreport. Equifax might require you to mail in a form to get a paper copy of your report, but TransUnion and Experian usually give you your report online. This is the website that was set up by the credit reporting companies and is NOT a business trying to sell you a credit monitoring service. annualcreditreport
