There is a misconception of carbs. What is a carb and what isnt. I have heard this several times. There is a difference in nutrient rich carbs that are low in the glycemic index and carbs that are higher in the glycemic index. The natural carbs like apples or other fruits and vegetables are easy for your body to recognize and process. They dont spike your blood sugar and will actually help you to burn off those extra pounds. Carbs higher in the glycemic index like breads, white rice, processed foods these things are what you want to avoid. They arent nutrient rich and do nothing for your body but help you store fat. If you like rice and want to balance your meals with a healthy carb that works for your body and loaded with nutrients use par-boiled rice or jasmine rice. These 2 have all the nutrients in them that your body needs and hasnt been stripped of anything. This is the whole grains before it is turned into white or brown rice. These are even healthier than brown rice. Par-boiled rice wont spike your blood sugar like white rice. Its all about getting your body the nutrients it needs and keeping your blood sugar stable for a more effective calorie burn.
