There is a post that says, atheists like Richard Dawkins states that the God of the Old Testament committed genocide. And thus He is evil and sadistic. Think of this: A. The term genocide did not exist before 1944. It is a very specific term, referring to violent crimes committed against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group. Human rights, as laid out in the US Bill of Rights or the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, concern the rights of individuals. B. Hence you cannot apply this word genocide to God. For He is not a member of the United Nation. He is the creator of the Universe.In the fall of man He said Adam will surely die if he disobeyed. If not for His grace there is no world after Adam. Then we are not here today.He owns the universe and every lives. No created being has the right to question Him for doing violent crimes. C. If you are an atheist, how can you charge God of genocide? Impossible! For atheist believes there is no God.. So how can he charge someone who do not exist with genocide? D. Therefore only people who believe there is God are the ones who can charge Him with genocide. There are two groups of people then who believe in God: 1. Those who believe God is a family of small gods. They say there are gods of the sea, the mountains, the plains, the forest, the gods of fertility, a nation, etc. These people thinks God is quite far from them, hence they resort in making images of this God using woods, bricks and clay. Before men are fun of making a image of this god in the form of different animals and birds.; calf,horse, goats, snakes. Now they changed. They make their small gods in the form of man , woman, child in different colors; black, white , yellow Chinese, and fair like Asian. 2. Those who believe in only one God , the creator of the Universe: omnipresent , omnipotent and omniscient God. When they talk to this God, they just close their eyes for they know their God is closer to them than they can think of. They never make any form of image or likeness to this God, for the 1st reason that God as angry with it and for the 2nd reason that it violates the logic that if God is present everywhere and He knows what is in the mind of every person and He cannot be influenced by anyone to do what he wanted to be done, why talk to such kind of image. If you belong to the first then you can charge God with genocide. If you belong in the second, there is no issue in here. For you have no right to do so.
