There is a slight risk for severe weather tonight for my friends in Central Illinois. So folks, lets talk disaster preparedness: 1. Charge your cell phones. 2. Know where your tennis shoes are and if a warning for your area is issued, put them on. Climbing through broken glass and twisted metal barefoot is not a good idea. Flip-flops mean that you may as well be barefooted. 3. Double check your disaster kit. Do you have some cash, some food (human & pet), flashlight w/ batteries, some of your meds in it and water ready? 4. Do you know where to take your family if the sirens sound? (Hint: Outside looking up at the sky is the wrong answer.) 5. Do you have a weather radio (battery powered) so that you can stay tuned in? Dont count on having electricity if this hits. 6. Are you prepared to put your animals somewhere if you need to go to a shelter? Just checking. Meanwhile, a prayer said for everyones safety through the night tonight.
