There is a story behind this cake. In Sept. I got a phone call from a frantic bride, the baker they had hired to do their wedding cake had backed out, and they needed a wedding cake in a week. I told her that if her venue was close to where my other cakes went that day, I would help her out (and the design had to be a simple one). It turned out to be Franklin Park Conservatory - which was between The Renaissance and The Highline Car house, so I was able to take it on. I never got to meet them, they never did a tasting, she sent me photos of what they would like and had one request, that there be a little black dog on the cake somewhere (they wanted to incorporate their fur baby in their wedding somehow) I just got this note from her: Hi Cindy, You did our wedding cake on Sept. 27th this year, super last minute when our original baker flaked on us. I have some BEAUTIFUL pictures our photographer took of our wedding cake that I wanted to send you encase you wanted to post them. I also wanted to write you glowing reviews of how you saved our wedding by making the most delicious cake ever even when you had 2 other weddings to do that same day!!! We cannot thank you enough!
