There is always a sign We see so much, yet miss even more Fight a battle, but dont see the war Under our noses, so much takes place Brushed aside because of a smile on their face A suspicion is raised, yet we fail to act Sticking to the rules of some hidden pact Then years down the road out it all comes We put two and two together and do the sums We knew all along, that things werent right But yet we hide them far out of sight The life we could have saved, a difference we make If only we could have spoken up for their sake What if we had, what if we had made our view known Would have caused trouble, or support to them shown Maybe we need to learn to speak out When a fear is whispered, we should then shout We can not protect from whats already done But we may just be able to save another one We see so much, yet we miss even more The hidden dangers behind a closed door Andrew B Benson
