There is an old Arab proverb that goes like this... "A army of sheep lead by a lion can defeat a army of lions lead by a sheep" Well today the little guys won at the Sturgeon County council meeting where the burning by-law was discussed. Myself and six others made presentations to Council outlining the stupidity of their by-law and pointed out that they acted on erroneous and misleading information when they crafted the by-law. After a break for lunch we all returned and a new by-law giving authority to amend the old one was introduced...passed unanimously. Everyone who lives on more than a one acre lots can burn their wood waste subject to obtaining a fire permit and abiding by certain conditions. Victory for the little guys.
