There is irony here. A two day project, since my obsession with current VR is fading. Its too primitive. After the gimmick wears off video games are still video games. Ill check back on VR in 5 or 10 years. Just for kicks though, compare a commercial Sensics HMD priced at $12,000-20,000 and then a consumer Sony HMD priced at $700-1200. Figure by 2015, Oculus has developed a new HMD that allows at least a 90 degree FOV (Field of View) where as a Sonys HMD allows for a simulated 150 screen at a 45 degree FOV which emulates a theatrical immersion--through a window, rather than actually being there. Oculus claims the Rift is exactly the latter. And guess what, at a price point of $200-350. A $20,000 experience has been reduced and upgraded to a $300 price of admission. Lets hope to keep cutting that! :3 Note: I dont dress up to play video games all the time. The gloves make me pro tho. nuff said.
