There is much speculation in the media, particularly in Times Now, about Nitin Gadkari getting a key cabinet post. Possibly dealing with infrastructure, as he is supposed to have earned his spurs there. It is another matter that he earned more than just golden spurs. The argument is that he has been exonerated by the IT authorities. That may be so. But the fact remains that his company was propped by fake shareholders. Like Subrata Roys was propped by fake depositors. The ED or IT exoneration means nothing. Its like finding a man accused of dacoity innocent of murder. There is also much discussion on Times Now of the desirability of having Arun Jaitely as Finance Minister. They are unanimous that he is capable, proven, tested, seasoned and honest. But the problem is that he was rejected by the people. Then someone helpfully suggests that that was a rejection of the Badal government. This logic is interesting. A 37% vote share for the NDA is interpreted as the peoples mandate, but a very specific electoral rejection is not seen as one.
