There is never a dull moment in rescue. This morning not only did we run the pups into the vet, then bleach everything they contacted or were near, we also tried to figure out an issue in a town 30 miles away. We were contacted about two dogs and two cats whose owner was taken to jail yesterday. One of the dogs had been let loose during the arrest and police did nothing about him. Luckily the neighbors stepped in to keep him safe, but did not know what to do with him. SAFE contacted the sheriffs dept, they went and checked on the dog. A few more phone calls and we found out the man should be released today and would be able to care for his pets. Meanwhile, the neighbors will watch out for the dog!! This is doing the right thing. Way to go neighbors!!
