There is no excuse for genocidal acts, there is no excuse for genocidal discourses. I avoid TV news because they are so biased and in India, so very party political and narcissistic. So I often become primarily dependent on fb (in addition to online news when I can) hoping it would be more informative and thanks to my friends, it often is. But it too has its downside. As if the tragedy of Israeli terrorism in Gaza was not upsetting in itself, it is annoying/depressing to see so many ignorant and, dare I say, idiotic posts on fb eulogising Hitler and repeating some quote ascribed to him ( I did not kill all Jews so that you could see why I killed so many or a variant of it). Their idiotic rant is a reminder that prejudice, ignorance and unthinking hatred goes well beyond a specific majoritarian ideology (say Hindu Right in India). I refer to Hindu Right (much more lethal and vicious) because they are hitler admirer and now they are cheering Israel simply because of their Islamophobia. What a F******* up world we live in where zionists act like Hitler, some muslims bemoan about Hitler not killing all Jewish people , and the Hitler loving Hindutva becoming a fan of Israeli terrorism. I have very few fb friends who cheer for Israel or Hindu fascists ( thankfully). It is perhaps time for me to trim my friend list further. I have unfollowed all who are eulogising hitler in the name of empathy for Palestinians and my hope is my timeline will become much better, more humane. All this while Palestinians suffer under Israeli terrorism and under genocidal acts of Zionism
