There is no gainsay the fact that Legislative business is not an all-comers affairs it is a vital aspect of democracy and therefore requires persons who have been tested and trusted in the process of Law making. Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu was elected into the Abia State House of assembly in 2003, though a first timer in the midst of many old fellows; but as a golden fish he was elected the Majority Leader an office he handled from 2003 to 2007 with great innovations. He was re-elected in 2007 where again he became the Honourable Speaker first amongst equal, he led the house through the 4th House with legacies on ground. When he returned in 2011 the PDP gentleman sharing arrangement however affected him, so he humbly was made the Chairman - House Committe on Sports. The choice for Sports was following his love for sports and his successful organising and hosting of a football competition in his constituency. Rt. Hon. Agwu apart from empowering party and non party members has made a great impact in the area of manpower development, as records has it as the only political leader in the present Arochukwu State Constituency who has given his youth REAL EMPOWERMENT through the award of scholarships to university undergraduates. Today over 152 persons are enjoying the program. This gesture was once described by an erudite scholar - Prof. J. K. Onoh Professor Emeritus as an unprecedented gesture. His foundation - Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu Education Foundation has renovated dilapidated classrooms blocks at Abam High School, Ozu Abam, Umunnabuo Sec. Comm. School, Ihechiowa and Ututu Secondary school, Ututu. The foundation also has provided portable drinking water to the people of Atan and Ndi Oji Abam. Not done yet, the foundation is concluding arrangements with some authorities to commence the building of 2 E Libraries at Ozu Abam and Ututu. The mode of selecting beneficiaries into his foundations scholarship program has been described as the BEST even by those who proclaim they hate his face. It is therefore a clarion call to all sons and daughters of great and historic Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency to support this man of vision, a humble and reliable person. The time to reap from his wealth of LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE is NOW. Be wise.
