There is no place for domestic abuse. It’s a horrible crime when violence is used against people who love and trust you. I hope that that the NFL media light that is being shined on this dark place will somehow help in the fight against domestic violence. In the past pro sports leagues have put their heads in the sand over this issue, but now the NFL is being forced to act by an outcry from the public - and from the NFL’s sponsors. The league is now teaming with top domestic violence experts to put together an education program for their athletes. My experience has been that for every criminal in the NFL there are hundreds of players who are high character guys. This doesn’t excuse these criminals, and I’m glad the NFL has been forced to be proactive. Unfortunately those of us forever connected to the NFL can be painted with the broad brush of the actions of a few.
