There is no such thing as Islamic Dress and there is nothing in the Quran specifying how women or men should be clothed. Why doesnt the media understand this? The Quran only says that women should dress modestly, but there is no mention of burkas, hijabs, headscarves, veils, or anything else that is strictly Islamic. These are cultural practices, not religious ones. The women in question interpret the Quran to say that they have to wear a certain type of clothing, but that doesnt make their clothing religious. Other interpretations are also valid and indeed practiced openly in Islamic countries.
