There is no way to measure the size of my gratitude for the loyalty of listeners like Bob in Red Deer. Hey my friend....just to prove to you that you can’t hide from me, I’m going to comment on your monologue regarding the Mayor. Full disclosure...I didn’t keep up with your social media this week as I’m helping out with a Halloween Store and things are getting a bit “scary”...get it? “scary” ( seriously, sometimes I just slay me...lol). But as I was coming home on Saturday night from the store, 630 CHED was playing “ The Best Of Charles Adler” and I caught the reaction to your previous statement and therefore had to follow up. (Mayor of Winnipeg) I’m not up on the political situation that you are describing, nor do I care. But to hear your peers/competition comment like they did about your monologue says volumes! I know it’s Fall and that Charles Adler, like the rest of us, has leaves in his yard. I’m not here to rake them, but please understand, at a time like this when any public figure, whether they be in public office or sponsored media is viewed as nothing more then a shill for whoever garners votes or pays their bills. Trust me Charles, this ain’t you. I’ve listened to you long enough to know that regardless of your political slant, every person that you interview gets treated the same. If there is any doubt of this, let’s archive the interviews with Jack Layton...I, like you, always liked Jack. I completely disagreed with his politics but I admired the way the man stood up for what he believed in. It cost him votes but at least he had a stance and he stood by it. Politically, the man infuriated me, but at the same time he garnered my respect. How does this relate? Integrity...you have it my friend and people can see it, read it and sense it. That’s why people go out of their way to listen to what you have to say. That’s why some schmo from Red Deer will bring up a freaking webcast at 3 am to listen to what the hell this son of a tailor has to say! It would sure be easy to rattle off the ol’ company line all day and collect the pay cheque, go home and watch hockey.....Charles, you give us depth, integrity and most importantly..SOUL in what you offer your listeners....the listeners aren’t stupid..they know this. Most importantly, YOU know this and that’s why you keep delivering what you do. Thanks again my friend...and good luck with those leaves in your yard...lol. Bob in Red Deer
