There is nothing new under the sun in the world of human politics. Power will always go to those who lust after power, and todays revolutionaries will become tomorrows tyrants, just as yesterdays revolutionaries became todays tyrants. Freedom fighters are just power mongers of a different sort. Ruthless people ever strive after that foolish thing called power and there is no stopping it. It has ever been, and always will be so. To the slaves they owned, Jefferson, Adams, Washington and John Hancock were all tyrants, however relatively benevolent their tyranny compared with some others. The good news is that to those who only see power and money, that which is weak and poor is invisible. So if you really want to make things better, you have to use the powers that arent power, and the resources that arent money. Because power cant change what it doesnt see. If this sounds cryptic, it isnt really. Jesus was poor and powerless too. A man is born gentle and weak. At his death he is hard and stiff. Green plants are tender and filled with sap. At their death they are withered and dry. Therefore the stiff and unbending is the disciple of death. The gentle and yielding is the disciple of life. Thus an army without flexibility never wins a battle. A tree that is unbending is easily broken. The hard and strong will fall.
