There is nothing quite like coming in from the yard knowing that everything has full bellies, clean beds and plenty of water, that all haynets are filled, the farrier has been, evening feeds prepared, the hounds exercised, the wood bought in for the burner, the ashes emptied and peeling off your cold, soaking wet clothes right down to your Bridget Jones knickers and thermal socks!!, putting on warm dry clothes and having a nice warm cup of tea and a bowl of soup, knowing you have to back out there at 3.30 to do it all again
