There is something about these children that makes me think a supertyphoon cannot ruin the good in a person. One child received an Oreo and as the team prepared to continue the journey to the air strip, the child wished us well and reminded us to take care on our journey. That’s from a child who’ve experienced a typhoon making a landfall that brought winds knocking down walls and concrete structures in its path on November 8, 2013. I am awed at how Haiyan’s ferocious winds failed to weaken the children’s ability to smile and say “thank you” to a Bruneian handing out an Oreo in the middle of a vast wasteland. (RUDOLF PORTILLO, BRUNEI TIMES SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2013) Just make us realised that, in whatever situations we are facing, always and always keep our faith strong inside our heart. Always and always do not forget that in every steps we try to stand up after we fall, HE will always be there to guide us no matter what. Just like the people of Tacloban, God bless them with strong heart. Thus despite the sufferings they are enduring, they are still standing strong and trying hard to move on. I came across one beautiful report by CNN correspondent, Anderson Cooper on Tacloban whereby he interviewed one of the survivor of the typhoon, A mother who was carrying her child under the rain waiting for the plane to take them to the temporary relief shelter said that it is a lie if she tell the world that she is okey, but she said that despite all the calamity that hit them badly, she still believe in her heart that the sun will shine again for her and her child. It may not be today but she is sure that the people of Tacloban will see the beautiful sun shining brightly again one fine day. There is light at the end of every tunnel, Rainbow after every rain/storm. The typhoon in a split second turned their world upside down. They lost place where they once called Home, they are tested with hunger and in a state where they are depending on the relief team for food, battling with the pain after losing their love ones. Despite all that, these people are still standing strong. Because from the beginning before being tested with such calamity, God has placed inside their heart very strong spirit that tell them not give up. One priceless smile of the children upon receiving biscuits from the relief team is more than enough to make us realised that we must not give up on them as well even with small effort. It counts! Brunei Humanitarian team, to the International organisations from different parts of the world and relief teams that worked really hard from day 1 working hand in hand round clock trying to provide relief to the survivors, and everyone who give their support and prayers for the people of Tacloban and other affected areas. God bless your beautiful heart people. The every single effort give the people of Tacloban with HOPE! Same goes to those who give their prayers and heart in supporting to provide relief to the people of palestine, Syria, and others. It is also a gentle reminder for all of us not to give up. When we faced with difficulties, always remember that no obstacles that you cannot endure because along that difficulties, HE is there guiding our every steps making sure we will rise up again safe and sound. So, keep going! go go go! TEHEEEE. *** To orang Brunei, the donation counters are still accepting donations from the public. So, you can still do your part in the Beautiful mission. xx
